Author Bio
Payal is an award-winning author. Her books for middle-graders, young adults and adults have been published by Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury, Hachette, Disney and Pearson. Her books enjoy both critical acclaim and popular appeal. She runs writing workshops to empower middle-grade students and young adults in India and overseas to develop their own voices, and engages schools all over the country in writing workshops and media literacy sessions. Payal has been on the jury for the Leading Reading Schools of India Awards, and spoken on and moderated children’s literature panels at major literary festivals across India and overseas, including the Jaipur Literature Festival, the Kolkata Literary Meet, Bookaroo (in several cities), the Neev Literature Festival, the Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival, the Lucknow Literary Festival and the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, UAE. As a former journalist, Kapadia reported and wrote for publications in the United States, Hong Kong, Japan and India.
